COVID-19: A consultation on the response of Recovery Connections

This consultation report was to review the response of Recovery Connections to the COVID-19 pandemic and national lockdown. There is a particular focus on the community support aspect of the service provision.

Exploration on the initial response of Recovery Connections, the work undertaken during lockdown and views on the service delivery post-lockdown/living with COVID-19 for both the Recovery Connections team and the community it supports. The consultation used a number of methods: two socially distanced face-to-face interviews, one telephone interview and three focus groups: one with staff and volunteers and two with people accessing Recovery Connections.

Stigma - a consultation with people with experience of addiction

This consultation report will inform us and lead onto further work in the field – research was conducted in collaboration with the Road to Recovery Trust.

Two consultation sessions with people in recovery and experience of addiction were held. The format for the sessions were developed in partnership with senior management from Recovery Connections in Middlesbrough and The Road to Recovery Trust in Newcastle. Based on the findings of the consultation the two organisations will explore a joint project in the North East to tackle stigma and source appropriate funding. This consultation is therefore a foundational piece of work which the two organisations will use as a platform for a future project.
