On the evening of July 19th, we joined the finals of the North East Charity Awards, for the third consecutive year. In the mix for Outstanding Contribution to Social Impact, The Rising Star Award (for the work of none of than Tracy Dixon), and the big one – The North East Charity of the Year.
Since winning Charity Leader of the Year, in 2021, our work across the region has been more in the spotlight than ever before. And with new services in Darlington now live, the expansion of the IPS Employment team, last year, the launch of new activities, and staff now supporting more than 1000 people, every year, Recovery is on the minds of local people across the region.
At the event, Recovery Connections was the only North East charity to be nominated across three categories – and the work we do could be in the mix for even more, next year.
Our presence at events like this, and the enthusiasm of others for us to be nominated, is further evidence that the work we do is connecting, breaking down stigma, and changing perceptions.
